FAQs
What is a cord of firewood?
A cord of firewood is a standard unit of measurement for stacked firewood, defined as a tightly stacked pile measuring 4 feet high, 4 feet wide, and 8 feet long, totaling 128 cubic feet. It typically consists of logs cut to 16-18 inches in length, though dimensions can be customized.
What types of firewood do you offer?
We offer premium, freshly split, ethically sourced firewood in Sooke and surrounding communities, including Fir, Arbutus, Maple, or mixed cords. Processed with our commercial wood splitter, our firewood is cut to consistent lengths for optimal burning. Order bulk or custom cords with delivery today! We strongly recommend buying your firewood in the spring and summer as demand for seasoned firewood is high and our supplies are limited. Freshly split firewood, if properly stacked and covered with good air flow for a summer will be burnable in 6 months. Keep in mind hardwoods like Arbutus and Maple can take longer to season.
What does SAFE Companies Certified mean?
The BC Forest Safety SAFE Companies Certificate (Safety Accord Forestry Enterprise) is a safety certification program administered by the BC Forest Safety Council (BCFSC) for forestry and forest product sector businesses in British Columbia. It evaluates and improves a company’s occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) through audits, training, and compliance with industry standards. Annual audits are required to maintain certification.
